LOWERING OF METABOLISM - A POSSIBLE METHOD OF HUMAN LIFE SPAN PROLONGATION

Purpose: The possibilities of lowering basal metabolism (LBM) in man
with aim of longevity have been investigated. The method is based on
the data that at many mammalia in state of hypobiosis BM is lowered
very much and aging is delyed independently from the mechanisms, and
after hypobiosis the process of self-renovation of tissues is
activated, In addition the life span of some species (Microtus,
Soricidae etc,) is able to increase in several times. Results: In the
experiments on life prolongation of mice, don't flowing into
hypobiosis, us have been success LBM by hypoxi-hypercapnic gaseous
medium. It is known that in man during sleep the respiration and puls
rate, body temperature, oxygen consumption (VO2) and carbon dioxide
discharge (VCO2) are decreased On the background fool muscular relaxing
and starvation (BFMRS) it causes LBM for 20%, The further LBM during
sleep is possible for training of respiration on the BFMRS. Such
trainings are known in active state. The first economy of respiration
is reached by limitation depth of breath and expiration. Then the
decrease of respiration rate has been working by training in breath
holding and stepped respiration on the BFMRS. For the time the slow
respiration has been automating. It is established that in such
respiration VO2 and VCO2 are lowering twice, oxygen utilisation
coefficient is increasing stability to hypoxia and resistance of
organism to different diseases are working, viability is raising. BFMRS
relives the respiratory training, makes them more effective and allows
LBM twise. Conclusion: Application of automatic rhythm 2 respiration a
min on the BFMRS for 7-8 hr sleep essentially should LBM and delay
aging. It is known that during sleep the secretion of anabolic hormones
is raised that causes to activity of synthesis of proteins and nucleic
acids, to self-renovation of cells and tissues. After sleep these
processes should be intensified by special training widening of reserve
possibilities of organism.
