Reconsidering How We Think about Dogelon Mars

If you dismiss $ELON as just another meme token, you’re totally missing the point

We believe in the potential of Dogelon Mars.

Lately, a lot of people have questioned the staying power of meme tokens.  Just look here or here or here. There is no shortage of opinion about their long-term value.

As the largest holder of $ELON, we believe that the power of this token – and its ultimate value – comes from the strength and singular vision of the Dogelon Mars community.

Admittedly, we don’t see $ELON the same way that a big holder, a so-called whale, might.  A whale wants to turn a profit as quickly as possible.  We’re committed to being stewards of the token.  Unlike a whale, we are in $ELON for the long run. We view our role as advocating for the community and encouraging support for focused projects.

In the future, we expect to divest some of our holdings – but will do it responsibly, and only to support the mission of conquering big challenges.

And that brings us to the real point: Dogelon Mars is not a meme token, or a junk token. It’s a mission token.

A mission token brings a community together around an ultimate mission. It directs its development, messaging and infrastructure investments toward achieving that mission. And its goal goes beyond just creating wealth and riches.

Don’t get us wrong, we like wealth as much as anyone. But we believe in a higher calling to promote innovation that can change humanity for the better.

Dogelon Mars’ holders and developers, in collaboration with Methuselah Foundation, are committed to the ultimate mission of elevating humanity into a species that can conquer inter- and intra-planetary problems by using technology and executing the brilliant ideas of audacious individuals.

The ultimate goal is to reduce human suffering, and extend the healthy human lifespan, while advancing humanity’s adventure on earth and in space, with the enthusiastic support of the rapidly growing $ELON community.

Methuselah Foundation Co-Founder David Gobel talked about this idea of mission token during an Ask Me Anything session on Clubhouse last year. One phrase from that session is making its way into memes (like the ones in this post, given to us by the Dogelon community) … and even been used in community created audio tracks.

Our take on this is that the Dogelon Mars community believes as we do, that $ELON is a mission token. And that gives the $ELON great power – and potential – in the future.
